Every organisation, unit, team or relationship has both good and bad. As a member in this collaboration, is it your job to accentuate the positive or eliminate the negative?
I believe you should try to do both, but start with the negative ones because studies have shown that negative information, experiences, and people have a far deeper impact than positive ones.
A better use of your time and energy is to focus on clearing your organisations, units, teams and relationships of the negative as much as you can.
This may mean tearing down frustrating obstacles or shielding people from destructive behavior. Grumpiness, laziness and nastiness are contagious, and by reducing those types of negativity you give all people a better chance of success.
I’m not telling you that this will be easy but I will promise you that it will be worth it!
Get rid of negativity!
